It seems as though I chose a very good month to become a Glossybox subscriber. I’ve read so much about beauty boxes over the last few months that I decided to take the plunge and try out Glossybox as I’d read very mixed reviews and I like to live on the dangerous side lol.
Within a few days of subscribing, my first ever Glossybox had arrived and I was bursting at the seams ready to open it. I opened the parcel to see a brightly coloured box branded with superdrug logos. It became apparent that this month, Superdrug were celebrating their 50th birthday and as such had released a Glossybox with summer beauty products. The box was beautifully packaged with pink tissue paper and ribbons.

Like many of my regular readers, I read plenty of blogs online and have many favourites. I was reading another plus size fashion blog recently where the girl who runs it had compared two dresses from Boohoo Plus Sized Range and Pink Clove. I thought this was a really good idea and after a little while, I came up with a fantastic idea for a monthly feature for my blog.
Each month (funds permitting) I am going to review one of the plus size retailers that are either online or on the high street. I will part with my hard earned cash to order one or two items of clothing and I will review the whole experience. Not only will I review technical aspects such as ease of use of websites and payment options available, but also the delivery speed, customer service and of course the items themselves. There is nothing worse than parting with your money on products that are poor quality, or waiting for weeks for your order to arrive so I hope that my impartial reviews will help you find the brands you can trust.
My first plus size retailer will be reviewed in June, and at the moment I am torn between either Boohoo Plus Sizes or Yours Clothing, two retailers who I have had no previous experience with.

Well hasn’t the weather taken a weird turn! From sweltering heat to downpours of rain, I’ve dug my jeans back out of my wardrobe and dressed more for the weather today!
I am wearing my stretch denim jeans from Asda that are made from some of the softest denim fabric I have ever felt and with a high waist they are extremely comfortable. I’ve never been a fan of the hip height jeans and I don’t think I ever will be. Along with my blue jeans I am wearing my relatively new “Selfie” tank top from New Look Inspire with my mint green cardigan to pick out the colours in the tank top.

I am a big fan of Scarlett & Jo even though I don’t own many of their pieces. After seeing their Autumn catwalk show at last years Plus North I have been really looking forward to seeing what their Summer range would be like and I have to say I am not disappointed. Although I do love the idea of powerfit dresses, they aren’t really something that you can wear on a day to day basis or to a special girly event (I think they are more suited for business / work wear) but this recent collection of beautiful floral print dresses is a completely different matter!
I first heard about the new floral collection when I spied a photoshoot that the gorgeous Danielle, Georgina, Hannah and Callie had taken place where they were styled in beautiful dresses with their hair and makeup done too. I thought they all looked so beautiful and that they had a lot of fun on their Scarlett & Jo photoshoot and I couldn’t wait to check out the collection. Here are my favourite pieces so far…

Normally when I go shopping I have a terrible habit of finding one key piece of clothing and styling it within the same store so that I have a complete outfit before I leave the shop. This outfit of the day was actually made from 3 different trips to Select Fashion by chance and without really considering the rest of my wardrobe but I absolutely love it! It’s perfect for Summer with on trend colours and it’s also quite lightweight which is great for any lurking heatwaves.
I have used layers to build up this outfit of the day so during the day you could potentially lose the cardigan and keep it for cooler evenings, but because I don’t like the tops of my arms I like to keep them covered up and out of sight.

Soooooo……. I got married! In January 2014 we had a very intimate, romantic wedding with a handful of guests and a yummy 3 course meal. I promised to post photos of the whole affair on my blog but after thinking about it a bit harder, I decided not to document the whole thing as it was a very personal day. A few of my twitter friends have asked about the wedding since, so I figured I would post just a few photos to share some of our beautiful wedding pieces such as my dress and our flowers… ohh and our cake! I hope you enjoy this little look into our big day

I’m not sure how many of my readers know this, but I can’t actually swim. Myself and Mr FH have been going to our local pool to attempt to teach me how to swim and be confident in the water. Today, I managed around 3 metres without any floatation devices which is a big step for me. Now, since I’m not a natural water baby, I don’t own many swimsuits. I have a lovely polka dot swimdress and a sexy black number that were reviewed for Sports Direct, and I have a low neckline plunge electric blue swimsuit but I’m not really confident enough to wear either of the sexy swimsuits quite yet. I have been going once a week to the swimming pool, so have stuck to my polka dot swimdress.
We have been discussing going more frequently as my confidence seems to disappear when I leave it for long periods before getting back in the water so I am going to need more swimwear that I will feel comfortable enough to wear in front of anyone.

Recently, I took my mother on a little mini shopping spree to try and find her something she wanted for her birthday. Of course, that meant that I found something too! It’s like there is an unwritten rule that when I go shopping with the purpose of “not” buying myself something, I spy plenty of outfits, accessories and shoes that I drool over!
We had a lovely few hours. First, we headed into New Look. I must admit there was nothing in there that I really liked the first time I looked around. That’s very unusual for me as when I am on their website I always find stuff that I love. We decided to go and grab a quick lunch as we had made the fatal mistake of going out at lunchtime. After filling up on a yummy jacket potato we ventured into Yours Clothing. I spotted a gorgeous floral swimdress but considering I can’t swim I thought that maybe £40 on a swimdress was a bit steep. I’m trying to learn but at the moment stick to the comfort of a noodle float. I look a sight in the pool!
We visited the usual places, Primark, Marks and Spencer, Dorothy Perkins and Select where I found a beautiful mint green floral skater dress. On the hanger I wasn’t quite sure but once I’d put it on in the changing room I was sold. And at only £14.99, you really can’t complain can you! Continue reading

Hi everyone! Well, my blog has a new look, and a new home which isn’t on blogger anymore! It took a while for me to work out exactly what I wanted to do, but I made the decision to go over to a WordPress blog as it was a platform that I have used for many years now and I really love the flexibility of it.
Today’s outfit of the day features a gorgeous dress by AX Paris at Simply Be. I bought this dress while I was in Manchester for Plus North last September and it has been a staple part of my wardrobe ever since. It’s very comfy with a floaty fabric – but fitted, so no stretch in this one. I like how it can work for both Spring/Summer and indeed Autumn as I have worn it with a brown leather jacket previously.
This dress is no longer available on the Simply Be website but you’ll find that all of the AX Paris skater dresses fit the same way. I am wearing a UK size 20 (I always size up for fitted dresses) and it fits lovely – not too snug but not too loose.
I have teamed my AX Paris @ Simply Be dress with a mint green cardigan which is from New Look and some beige sandals. I love to pick the colours out of the dress to accessorise with, so light beige, mint green or pinks look delicious with this dress.
This dress also holds fond memories as it was my first ever trip to the Simply Be store in Manchester and I had a lot of fun playing with the magic mirror and chatting with the friendly sales assistants. I really hope to go back at some point as it was so much fun! Continue reading
