I think I might have a bit of an obsession – floral dresses!  Recently I’ve tried to change things around a bit with my style and wear more suitable clothing for the weather but no matter how many times I dig my jumpers out of the wardrobe, I always seem to get back to a floral dress.  I even find ways to make them winter proof, like adding a warm cardigan or smart coat.  I purchased this floral dress a few months ago from Select as it was a style I had previously worn in a mint green colour and I knew the colours would be perfect to wear during the Autumn.

I’ve never really been a fan of the colour burgundy but this year I am really attracted to it like a magpie. I think it’s the warming feeling of such a deep, rich colour that seems to always look luxurious regardless of how much you’ve spent on your outfit.  The Garden Floral Lace Skater Dress was only £14 so a complete bargain and after looking on their website, it is in the Winter sale for £10 (however only in sizes 6, 10 and 12). It’s got a bit of stretch to it, with a beautiful lace overlay which is sheer across the top.  An underskirt provides a bit of modesty, however the dress is quite short, and I’m only 5’5″.

As for styling this dress, I opted for a simply burgundy cardigan from Primark which cost £6 and wide fit brown knee high boots, also from Primark.  These are current stock and are £20 and also come in black which I am sorely tempted to get too.  I’ve always struggled with finding knee high boots as my calf muscles are huge, yet my ankles are skinny. Go figure!?  For accessories, I split a set of bracelets from New Look and chose golden and deep red tones to match my dress. I have to say I really love this look and it’s one that I’ve been rocking plenty of times recently.  What do you think of this seasons on-trend colours? Are you wearing them? I’d love to know!

    1. Its funny how I’ve never liked it before but now I’m really into it. I’m so excited about SS2015 and the pastel colours coming back xx

    1. Thank you :) I still can’t quite believe how reasonably priced it all was either, I’ve never really shopped in Primark before but think I’ll keep an eye on their stuff now x
