When Curvissa got in contact with me to see if I wanted to be involved in a 5-way review of the Ostrich Textured Clutch Bag*, I knew immediately what I wanted to style it for!  Valentines Day is approaching this weekend and although my husband and I don’t really celebrate it, we are going out for a meal at Nandos (my choice) during the next few days. I’m a firm believer that you should show your significant other that you love them every single day, not just February 14th!

The Ostrich Textured Clutch Bag* is a beautiful maroon colour, with a hint of pink through it and textured style spots. It’s very well made and with the ability to wear as a clutch bag or with a delicate golden coloured chain makes this handbag very versatile.  The clasp is also of a golden colour and feels very secure. In fact, since this is the first product I’ve ever tried from Curvissa, I have to admit I am very impressed with the quality.  Although this bag is made from a synthetic fabric, it doesn’t detract from the quality one bit and if I’m completely honest I’m not a fan of real leather anyway.

Inside there are a couple of pouches that aren’t sealed for things like lipstick and there is also a zipped pouch which is very generous in size.  I can fit my cards and iPhone in here easily without having to squeeze everything in.  What I quite liked about this clutch bag is that it looks smart so it could be worn on a night out, but you can also dress it down with a day dress or even jeans.  I found numerous ways I could style it with my recent love of maroon/burgundy tones.  I decided that for my date, I would wear it with a gorgeous check print day dress from Select Clothing, black fur topped knee boots and combine the whole look with a matching maroon coloured floppy hat, also from Select Fashion.

Dress: Select Fashion, Size 12, £13.99, Boots: Unknown (old), Necklace: New Look (old), Floppy Hat: Select Fashion, £8.99, Ostrich Textured Bag*: Curvissa, £25.00
(they have matching low heeled shoes too!)

I think that this look is a little out of my comfort zone as I’m not usually one to wear a hat, but I have to say that I love it!  The dress is maybe a little short in hindsight so I will probably add tights on my actual date, but I love the combination of monochrome with the deep red and all of the different textures.  The Ostrich Textured Clutch Bag* from Curvissa is for sale on their website for £25.00 which I think is very reasonable for a decent handbag.  Although their target audience is aimed more for women over 30, I found that a lot of their pieces are quite fashionable so it’s worth taking a look even if you are younger. They have a selection of other gorgeous handbags too, so if you need something for a special occasion, be sure to check them out!

I’ve never been involved in a 5-way review before and I’m very excited to see how the other bloggers involved have styled this clutch bag. Take a look at the links below to check out their reviews!

  1. Great outfit hun, love how you’ve styled it. That hat is gorgeous! I haven’t shopped in Select for years but I’ll have a look for some accessories now as it looks like they have some gorgeous pieces xxx
