In December, I won an Evans Clothing voucher for my blog post I wrote about their newest Cut for Evans
range and I was so excited that I wanted to share my excitement and also thank my blog readers by holding a giveaway. When I started my blog I never imagined that anyone would ever read it, let alone win amazing competitions from my writing. I won a whopping £100!

I’m not going to lie to you, I have found this extremely difficult. I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I am struggling so much after just a few days, but let me fill you in on my week which has been absolute torture. About 5 minutes after I posted my #100dayspendingban which seemed like such a good idea at the time, the buttons on my jeans popped off. They aren’t the sort of buttons that can be fixed either. At first I was horrified that it might be because my jeans were too tight but then I remembered that I have had 3 pairs of these jeans from Select and every single pair has suffered the same fate. That will teach me for buying budget jeans! Of course I panicked thinking that I have to last until the beginning of April without any jeans that fit me. I have since found two pairs of size 16 jeans in my storage boxes which are falling down, but at least I’m not completely jeanless.

I can’t quite believe it’s already the 4th January! This month seems to be flying by, and it’s only going to speed up when I get back into working full time. I really miss having my acrylic nails since one broke earlier this week and the rest swiftly followed and unfortunately I don’t actually paint my nails when they are so short – I have the weirdest fingers and tiniest nails ever! It’s not going to detract from me opening my Ciaté Mini Mani Month calendar though, as I know that as soon as I can get hold of some acrylic liquid I’m going to have a go at doing them myself!

I do hope you’re not going to get bored of these posts, but each day brings a new nail varnish! So far we’ve had some very festive colours from the Ciaté Mini Mani Month calendar and I am excited to see what the rest of the month will bring. For today though, let’s stick to day 3 and see what we get… and yes, I know I’m seriously weird opening an Advent Calendar in January but that’s part of my charm!

It’s quite nice having something to open every day in January. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve never really been the kind of person to get all depressed and mopey after New Year Eve. I’ve always seen a new year as a way for me to hopefully realise my dreams and do something great. Another 365 days to achieve something. That’s part of the reason why we chose to have our wedding in January too, so that we’d have our anniversary and hubby’s birthday to celebrate straight after the Christmas festivities. Anyway, onto door number 2… are you excited?

Happy New Year Everyone!
Before I started my spending ban (which is going terribly, I must add and if you follow me on twitter you’ll see I’ve turned into a miserable bitch) I did a spot of January Sale shopping just after Christmas. I had been keeping an eye on the price of the Ciaté Mini Mani Month calendar in The Factory Shop even though this was the 2013 version because it retailed originally at over £50. The Factory Shop had it on offer just before Christmas for £20, but I stuck to my guns and voilà the calendar was reduced to a mere £12 a few days after Christmas. It’s still available in some stores, but I don’t know how long this offer will last.

Yes I’m Crazy!
I’ve seen a bundle of other bloggers start their own spending bans and I have tried this before (for a month) and failed miserably. I’m not sure why but I get a little bit of joy when I get new shiny things, but in all honesty, it’s become a bit of an addiction so I’m always on the lookout for that next fix. At first I worried that I wouldn’t have anything to blog about, but since it has just been Christmas I have plenty of new beauty products to share with you and my wardrobe still has plenty on the hangers that you’ve never even seen.

I have had a bit of a run of good luck lately, winning £250 of Evans vouchers, a Ciate nail varnish gingerbread house set and a letterbox Christmas cake of my choice from Baker Days. This giveaway was run by the lovely Sally from The Human Mannequin
and I was lucky enough to receive my cake in the post a couple of days ago.

One of my newest favourite beauty products HAS to be Benefit Cosmetics It’s Potent Eye Cream. I suffer from really bad dark eye circles so I had been itching to give this product a try so when it appeared in my first ever Birchbox, I was extremely excited! Firstly, the packaging is in the usual Benefit style and is really lovely. The cream looks a little bit of an odd colour but don’t let that put you off as it smells and applies like a dream.

I think I might have a bit of an obsession – floral dresses! Recently I’ve tried to change things around a bit with my style and wear more suitable clothing for the weather but no matter how many times I dig my jumpers out of the wardrobe, I always seem to get back to a floral dress. I even find ways to make them winter proof, like adding a warm cardigan or smart coat. I purchased this floral dress a few months ago from Select as it was a style I had previously worn in a mint green colour and I knew the colours would be perfect to wear during the Autumn.
