I can’t quite believe it’s already the 4th January! This month seems to be flying by, and it’s only going to speed up when I get back into working full time. I really miss having my acrylic nails since one broke earlier this week and the rest swiftly followed and unfortunately I don’t actually paint my nails when they are so short – I have the weirdest fingers and tiniest nails ever! It’s not going to detract from me opening my Ciaté Mini Mani Month calendar though, as I know that as soon as I can get hold of some acrylic liquid I’m going to have a go at doing them myself!

I do hope you’re not going to get bored of these posts, but each day brings a new nail varnish! So far we’ve had some very festive colours from the Ciaté Mini Mani Month calendar and I am excited to see what the rest of the month will bring. For today though, let’s stick to day 3 and see what we get… and yes, I know I’m seriously weird opening an Advent Calendar in January but that’s part of my charm!

It’s quite nice having something to open every day in January. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve never really been the kind of person to get all depressed and mopey after New Year Eve. I’ve always seen a new year as a way for me to hopefully realise my dreams and do something great. Another 365 days to achieve something. That’s part of the reason why we chose to have our wedding in January too, so that we’d have our anniversary and hubby’s birthday to celebrate straight after the Christmas festivities. Anyway, onto door number 2… are you excited?

Happy New Year Everyone!
Before I started my spending ban (which is going terribly, I must add and if you follow me on twitter you’ll see I’ve turned into a miserable bitch) I did a spot of January Sale shopping just after Christmas. I had been keeping an eye on the price of the Ciaté Mini Mani Month calendar in The Factory Shop even though this was the 2013 version because it retailed originally at over £50. The Factory Shop had it on offer just before Christmas for £20, but I stuck to my guns and voilà the calendar was reduced to a mere £12 a few days after Christmas. It’s still available in some stores, but I don’t know how long this offer will last.

Lately my hair has been quite dry and tangled so I was very eager to give the L’Oreal Mythic Oil Masque a try. When I opened the sample tub, the smell was quite fragrant, yet fresh. Using previous oil treatments I hve always found the scent quite overpowering but that wasn’t the case with this product.

Ok ok, I know… I didn’t even last the month without resubscribing to Glossybox, but if you’re anything like me you’ll agree that once you start getting surprises through the post it’s pretty crap when it stops! So I am, again a Glossybox Subscriber
! I already knew what September’s Glossybox looked like after sobbing over other people’s reviews. September’s box was designed in collaboration with Karen Millen!

I’ve had long blonde hair as long as I can remember and it has sort of turned into my trademark. Usually it is really manageable, detangled and soft but lately I am finding that my hair ends up in a massive ball of knots.
I’ve put the problem down to excess washing. Now I know you are only supposed to wash your hair once or twice a week. I am literally washing mine every day and there isn’t any way around it. During my exercising I get sweaty and my hair gets wet so it needs to be washed straight after. I use a variety of high street shampoos and conditioners (generally whatever is on offer).
After experiencing an unusual amount of knots in my hair I asked my hairdresser for advice. She mentioned that every other time I have to wash my hair, to only use conditioner and that should help. Sure enough it did seem to for a while but now I am back to square one with daily knotted hair and bunches of it getting ripped out when brushing.
What I would like to know is are there any hair care products worth trying? I never blow dry my hair, so I’m looking for a reasonably priced shampoo, conditioner and even additional products like leave in conditioner or hair oil treatments. I’ve recently taken to using a tangle teaser which makes the whole process a bit more bareable but I’d still love any advice on brands and new products to try. Thanks everyone x

I figure this is better late than never… In July I cancelled my subscription to Glossybox
. This is in no way a reflection on the products or service that I received during my subscription, I just can’t justify spending £10 (plus postage) on things I don’t necessarily need at the moment. Real life unfortunately takes over and that money can be better spent elsewhere on boring grown up things like bills! Bleugh!
I cancelled my subscription quite late in the month, so my last box would in fact be August’s as I had left it to late to cancel in July. I was secretly pleased about that though as it meant I got another little box of goodies in the post. My box arrived and I am very pleased with the contents. I can safely say I’ve never had a rubbish box from them.

Ever since our wedding I’ve been a little addicted to high end makeup. I loved my bridal look so much that I asked my makeup artist to write down all of the products that she used to create it with the mission to start collecting them all and building a nice little makeup bag of premium brands.
Apart from a couple of cheaper pieces, I’m nearly there with my collection so I thought I would share with you what is in my makeup bag (well this one anyway!)
